GRAND GUIGNOL 2
DEADLY DAMES....
That's right! It's baaaaaaaaack!
Directed by Cosette Brown and Ravyn Jazper-Hawke, Third Eye Theatre proudly presents its 2nd annual production of original Grand Guignol one acts. Grand Guignol 2: Deadly Dames opens June 25th, 2010, runs through July 24th, 2010, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays nights at The Back Door Theater located at 4319 SE Hawthor...ne Blvd. Doors open at 7:30pm show starts at 8:00pm. Tickets are $12 and $10 for students and seniors. For reservations call 503-970-8874.
A call for submissions of Grand Guignol style one acts brought in over 40 scripts from around the world for consideration.
This year’s shows are:
"Cul-De-Sac of the Beer-Thirty Superdolls" by Greg Bigoni: A dark comedy about three Portland roommates who take their Hipster-ism to the extreme.
"Starved" by Ravyn Jazper-Hawke: A horror about two victims locked in a basement.
"Weedwhacker Tuesday" by Amanda Mauer: A comedy about girl who is having a difficult time getting ready for the most important day of her career.
And last but not least...
"Georgie Gets a Facelift" by Daniel Guyton: A horror showing what happens when a girl scout disrupts a recently unemployed man's lament.
Third Eye Theatre is proud to be one of only three theatre companies in the United States to offer Grand Guignol (pronounced Grahn Geen-yol) performances as a permanent fixture in their season. Grand Guignol gets its name from the theatre from which it originated, Le Theatre du Grand Guignol, in Paris, France. Traditionally, Grand Guignol Theatre was known for over the top sex farces and horror vignettes. Each year Third Eye Theatre accepts submissions from playwrights all over the world, selecting new scripts which reflect the spirit of traditional Grand Guignol.
